Declining Daily Average Users in April 2012

In the month of March 2012, Pinterest was ranked as the third most popular network in the U.S. Its app was one of Facebook’s first success stories. However, the moth of April the number of average users sharply declined.

According to recent statistics from AppData, the Monthly Average Users of the Pinterest’s Facebook app were noted to be 8.3 million at the end of April as compared to 12.3 million in the month of March. Furthermore, the number of Daily Average Users also fell drastically in April as Pinterest changed its strategy to stop spammers from creating multiple counterfeit accounts. At the end of March they had also faced certain copyright concerns.

On the other hand, if we look at the statistics available from Alex, it shows that there has been a total increase of 16.7 percent in the DAU over the month of April 2012. From February to April, in three months there has been an increase of 246.9 percent in the daily reach of Pinterest.

The difference in figures has been most likely due to the fact that it AppData only accounted for the users logging in to Pinterest using the Facebook. However, recently Pinterest has added the option of accessing it through Twitter and has released its own Pinterest App.

An initial rush of politicians and celebrities was seen on the new social pinboard. Pinterest has even received endorsement from popular influential people like Mark Zuckerberg and Barack Obama. According to critics, this number of users that started to fall since last month has been due to the shedding of users who were only trying out the latest fad. Then it will reach a low where there will be only serious users. From there onwards it will most likely pick up again due to word-of mouth.

The endorsements from public figures like politicians, actors and other popularly followed celebrities had increased the number of users by almost 50 percent in the month of February. This meant that Pinterest was ranked third in March 2012 right after Facebook and Twitter. Since, April due to the change in their privacy and copyright policies, there was a decline in the number of DAUs. However, that does not mean that it will be drastically affecting Pinterest, since it is still way ahead of other social networking sites.

It clearly has a majority of female users, with 60 percent of the users as females. Square was the first electronic payment system to be released that allowed people to use their mobile phones to accept credit cards. The card can either be swiped through the device or the details can be entered on the phone’s keypad. Being first has its benefits. Square already handles more than 4 billion dollars’ worth of transactions each year and it continues to grow. This amount of experience means the company has been able to iron out problems that Google Wallet and PayPal Here are yet to tackle. But the main problem with Square’s system is its limited reach. It’s currently only available to retailers in America, but that does look set to change in the future. More problematic is the fact that the device doesn’t work with all major credit cards.
Google Wallet

Google Wallet launched as a competitor to Square in September 2011 and works in a completely different way. It lets its users store details of credit, loyalty and gift cards on their handset and then simply tap it on a reader installed at the checkout. Your phone essentially becomes your wallet so you don’t even have to take your cards out of the house with you. The fact that you can leave all your cards at home is Google Wallet’s biggest advantage. And unlike the other two systems all transactions are free of charge for both the buyer and seller. However, at present in only works in the United States and on one phone, the Samsung Nexus S 4G. You also need to have a MasterCard which is a drawback for a lot of people. And there are a fair few security concerns surrounding the virtual storage of card details on a mobile device but Google maintain it’s completely safe.

PayPal Here only launched last month but it’s already making waves. It works in a similar way to Square, but the phones camera can also be used to scan the cards and it can even read cheques. Despite the fact it’s the newest of the three smartphone payment systems PayPal Here is already compatible with all major credit cards, which Google Wallet and Square are not. Merchants are also only charged 2.7% for each credit card transaction which is slightly lower that Square’s rates but obviously not as good as Google Wallet’s free system. But PayPal Here is two years behind Square, so has a lot of catching up to do before it can even think about trying to dominate the market. It’s already available in America, Canada, Hong Kong and Australia and will be in Europe very soon so the company are doing their best. At the moment it’s impossible to single one of these readers out as the best, as the technology is all so new. Square’s device is certainly the most established but Google Wallet seems like a more revolutionary system and PayPal Here is rolling out fast. Recently, though, a couple of problems have arisen. The first is a potential overheating issue and the second has to do with data consumption. It is not yet clear how damaging these issues are, although if users are to be believed they represent pretty serious issues for anyone owning this new iPad.

Let’s consider the over-heating issue first. Recently a number of users have reported that the new iPad can, in some cases, be “too hot to hold.” The Dutch site Tweakers claimed that the new iPad was 5C (or 41F) hotter
than the iPad 2. And then Consumer Reports discovered that the temperature rose signficantly when playing Infinity Blade 2 (a popular game).

Apple, on the other hand, were quick to respond to the critisms. In a statement they released to the Huffington Post they said: “The new iPad delivers a stunning Retina display, A5X chip, support for 4G LTE plus 10 hours of battery life, all while operating well within our thermal specifications.”

So far it seems that this will not be enough to satisfy all iPad owners, with some suggesting that the only sensible of course of action is to return the iPad and/or get a cheap ipad 2 instead. It should be pointed out, though, that not all users have experienced over-heating problems. It appears that the issue arises only in cases where users play 3D games for extended periods of time. Those that use their iPad primarily for other things will not, it seems, feel any extra heat at all.

That said, there is another issue to consider – the 4G LTE data consumption issue. The 4G/LTE iPad is said to consume a user’s data allotment in rapid time. This of course results in larger bills, leaving many iPad owners frustrated and dissatisfied. The issue will affect people who use the 4G connection to watch movies or download games, for instance. On the one hand, users will be pleased to surf faster and stream content more quickly. On the other hand, they will be unhappy with the extra money that this will end up costing them. One solution to this issue that has already been suggested is to use Wi-Fi whenever possible. This is not an ideal solution, however, as many users specifically wish to use 4G LTE. Nor do they want to see their data limits exceeded within a matter of days or hours.

How to Activate the AirBlue Sharing?

If you want to Receive Files, Just Double tap on status bar.  AirBlue Sharing will listen for incoming file transfers in 120 seconds.Even You can change the configuration in Settings of AIRBLUE SHARING and You can see Bluetooth option in Photos, Music and Videos in your iPhone. So you can just Choose Bluetooth and Start Sharing with your friends.

In iOS 5 and Above all your files will be saved in VAR/MOBILE/AirReceived (can be accessed though iFile). If you are using below iOS 5 it will be saved in respective places like Musics and Videos in iPOD, Images in Photos and Vcard in Contacts.
